Privacy Statement
Notice
GBRMPA makes a record of all users and logs the following information for statistical purposes:
- the user's server and assigned IP address,
- the user's top level domain name (eg. .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc.),
- the date and time of the visit to the site,
- the pages accessed and documents downloaded,
- the previous site visited and the type of browser used.
We will only record your e-mail address if you send us a message. It will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it and will not be added to a mailing list. We will not use your e-mail address for any other purpose, and will not disclose it, without your consent.
Consent
No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect the service provider's logs.
We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you (personal information) or allows us to contact you. If you decide to provide personal information, you will be able to select the kinds of information you want to receive from GBRMPA by subscribing to various services, such as our Media Release Notification Service. If you do not want GBRMPA to send you Media Release Notifications then you may elect to unsubscribe from the service.
Security
GBRMPA has taken strong measures to protect the security of your personal information and to ensure that your choices for its intended use are honoured. We take strong precautions to protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
However, you should note there are inherent risks associated with transmission of information via the Internet. Therefore you should make your own assessment of the potential risks to the security of your information when making a decision as to whether or not to transmit information to GBRMPA by electronic means. Accountability
If for some reason you believe GBRMPA has not adhered to these principles, please notify us by e-mail at registry@gbrmpa.gov.au, and we will do our best to determine and correct the problem promptly. Alternatively, further information regarding your privacy rights may be obtained from the Australian Privacy Commissioner's Website.
