Indigenous trainees' epic voyage to monitor coral bleaching

Tuesday 21 March 2006

A research vessel with four Indigenous trainees helping scientists monitor coral bleaching has docked in Townsville, as part of an epic five-week voyage along the Queensland coast.

The trainees are helping scientists by diving, taking underwater photographs, recording results, using and maintaining scientific equipment, and crewing a boat operated by Pelican Expeditions.

Media are invited to speak with scientists and trainees about their trip:

When: 22 March 2006 from 9.45am to 10.30am
