About the Collection
The Great Barrier Reef Image Collection comprises over 70,000 spectacular images of reef life and activities. Some of these images are now available on the Web for educational purposes only. Primary, secondary and tertiary students are welcome to use the images shown below for their course assignments. Approval is restricted to this purpose and these images only, and no fee will be charged for using them.
Copyright ownership resides in the Commonwealth of Australia, and credit must be given to the Authority when any of these images are being reproduced in any format, electronic or otherwise (e.g. "Photographs courtesy of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority"). Use other than that described above is illegal.
For additional information concerning the Image Collection or access to a wider selection of material or services, please contact the Image Collection Officer (images@gbrmpa.gov.au). The Image Collection Officer will promptly provide information on any fees that may apply. Specific conditions of use will apply.
