Birds of Michaelmas Cay

De'ath., 2001:

"The period 1996-2000 has resulted in recovery of the populations of Common Noddy, Sooty Tern and Crested Tern from declines noted in earlier periods (1984-1996/6).  This is the case for total populations, breeding pairs, fully fledged young and unpaired adults.

Total populations have increased less consistently than the other three categories. Only two declines are noted: in fully fledged Common Noddy over 1984-2000, and in the total population of Sooty Terns over 1984-2000.

The total population remains at the 1996 levels, well below the 1984 level."
