Managing recreational impacts

Public moorings and reef protection markers have been installed in a number of locations throughout the Great Barrier Reef to reduce anchor damage. It is an offence to damage coral in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Five classes of moorings have been standardised throughout the Marine Park to cater for different vessel types and lengths.
