Ecocertification of Marine Park operators
Ecotourism and nature tourism certification provide industry, protected area managers, local communities and travellers with an assurance that a certified product is backed by a commitment to best practice ecological sustainability, natural area management and the provision of quality ecotourism experiences.
To be recognised as a GBRMPA high standard operator, Marine Park operators must become independently certified by Ecotourism Australia and attain Ecotourism or Advanced Ecotourism level.
Below are examples of environmental and cultural standards assessed by Ecotourism Australia's Ecocertification program.
