Super-yacht visitation to the Marine Park
Queensland Department of Tourism, Regional Development and Industry, 2008:
"Queensland's proximity to and easy sailing links with South East Asian ports places it in an ideal position to cater to the growing international super yacht industry. Its strategic location, easy access and transport links (both on land and at sea), and superior tourism product (including pristine cruising grounds, safety and security and the Great Barrier Reef) have secured Queensland's reputation as a premier super yacht cruising destination.
This reputation has secured significant growth in returns over a relatively short period. With international super yacht visitations to Queensland growing from four vessels in 1999 to 60 in 2006 (p. 9)."
