Land and Sea Country Partnerships Program

The Land and Sea Country Partnerships Program provides unique opportunities to plan and implement Sea Country Partnership arrangements with Great Barrier Reef Traditional Owners.

The program delivers effective on-ground management of sea country at a local level to manage and protect the Reef's marine resources, coastal ecosystems and cultural diversity through:

  • developing and implementing Traditional Use of Marine Resources Agreements (TUMRAs)
  • supporting Indigenous Community Compliance Programs
  • engaging Traditional Owners to share and increase their knowledge base in sea country management.

The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority delivers the Land and Sea Country Partnerships Program as part of the Australian Government's broader Reef Programme
