Know Your Permit Conditions

Along with the Regulations, Zoning Plan, and Plans of Management, your permit conditions are the 'road rules' for your use of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and Great Barrier Reef Coast Marine Park.

You are legally required to abide by your permit conditions and in doing so you are helping to ensure that your operation is sustainable.

Conditions specific to your permit

Your permit may contain conditions relating specifically to your operation such as:

  • the way you conduct activities;
  • the number of times you may access an area or a location;
  • areas that you must not access (exclusion areas);
  • the maximum number of passengers and crew you may carry;
  • the type of aircraft or size of vessel you may use.
