Artist invitation for Reconciliation Action Plan

The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority is inviting artists to design artwork for its Reconciliation Action Plan.

The Plan demonstrates our commitment to strengthening relationships, respect and opportunities for our staff that identify as First Australians and the wider Australian community.

This is an exciting opportunity for artists, or an artist group, who are Traditional Owners of the Great Barrier Reef.

We’re taking expressions of interests until Thursday 1 February 2018. The successful applicant will be awarded $5,000.

The artwork can be produced by any media — paint, ochre, pastel, pen, pencil or digital. It can also include texturing, shells, mosaic or carving, and needs to symbolise the meaning of reconciliation and the Great Barrier Reef.

The artwork will need to be used by the Marine Park Authority to promote the connection Traditional Owners have to the Great Barrier Reef.

More information is available in the invitation to artists, or contact Tony Kyle: 07 4750 0763 or tony.kyle@gbrmpa.gov.au.
