Great Barrier Reef Vulnerability Assessment
In October 2007, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA) published Climate Change and the Great Barrier Reef: A Vulnerability Assessment in association with 85 scientific and management experts.
The Vulnerability Assessment highlights issues that could have far-reaching consequences for the Great Barrier Reef ecosystem and the industries and communities that rely on the Reef.
Importantly, it also identifies knowledge gaps and outlines management options that will assist the Great Barrier Reef and other tropical marine ecosystems to cope with future climate change.
The Vulnerability Assessment was used to inform the GBRMPA's Great Barrier Reef Climate Change Action Plan, as well as drive its climate change research interests.
