Register of management arrangements

Protection and management of the Great Barrier Reef is a partnership between many government agencies, stakeholders and community members, with activities both on the water and in the catchment. The arrangements have been designed to ensure the long-term protection of the  Reef’s values in the face of various pressures while allowing for direct use activities.

Existing management tools

None of these management tools are intended to extinguish any native title rights and interests, nor do they affect the operation of section 211 of the Native Title Act 1993.
