Public consultation - invitations and results
When a permit is requested that may restrict reasonable use of part of the Marine Park to the public, it is a regulatory requirement that a public commenting period is conducted.
This process requires the applicant to advertise the proposal and provide information packages to the public.
This provides an opportunity for the members of the public to formally comment on the applications. Comments are considered by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA) when making its decision on whether to grant the permit.
Find out how to make a submission, costs involved and the steps in the public consultation process.
