The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority produces a range of publications on tourism and recreation that are available to read online. You can subscribe to our electronic mailing lists and be notified each time new publication is released. Further details are at the bottom of this page.

Onboard, The Tourism Operator’s Handbook for the Great Barrier ReefThe hard-copy Tourism Operator’s Handbook has been replaced by an easy-to-use online resource 'Onboard' for you and your staff covering all aspects of operating in the Marine Park. The website will always keep you up-to-date about changing management arrangements for the Marine Park.

The Reef Facts for Tour Guides fact sheet series aims to ensure accurate, up-to-date information and key messages are readily available to the Marine Park tourism industry.

Eyes and Ears Incident Reporting initiative

Further information on the Eyes and Ears Incident Reporting initiative is available online. If you would like to become more involved in incident reporting, contact the GBRMPA for an ‘Eyes and Ears’ Incident Reporting kit or call into one of our regional offices.

EMC posters for vessels and booking offices

To make it easier for you to correctly explain to your passengers what the Environmental Management Charge (EMC) is, how the money is spent to improve the management and protection of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, and how much each visitor pays, the Tourism and Recreation Group have developed two full colour posters that convey these messages.

Both posters are suitable to be printed in either A3 or A4 size.
