Science for Management Awards
The Science for Management Awards are intended to assist the research projects of students working towards a Doctorate or Masters degree in the physical, biological and social sciences. The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA) will consider applications from a variety of disciplines. However, the research must be relevant to the planning and management of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and World Heritage Area in a changing climate. Before applying, students are encouraged to review the Australian Government's Climate Change Action Plan 2007-2012, the 2010 Guidelines [

Successful applicants will be expected to submit a report to the Authority at the end of the year in which the grant is awarded. The report should include a section specifically explaining the relevance and application of the results to management, conservation and sustainable use of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and the World Heritage Area in a changing climate.
Applicants should already be supported by their administering institution for basic expenses and have access to general equipment, library, laboratory and computing facilities for the research. Grants are usually in order of between $1000 and $4000 (including GST).
