General State of the Environment Reporting
The concept of State of the Environment Reporting (SoE) was developed by the United Nations Environment Program. Many OECD countries, including Australia, provide a variety of SoE reports specifically tailored to the environments and reporting requirements of the individual organisations.
The GBRMPA produces the State of the Great Barrier Reef report to report on the Great Barrier Reef. The 1998 report was the first SoE style report released for the Great Barrier Reef.
