Tourism on the Great Barrier Reef

Junior Outlook

The Junior Outlook Reef Beat presents a series of posters focused on results from the Authority’s Outlook Report 2019, introduces some amazing animals seen along the Reef and the actions students can take to protect the Reef.

We have a range of educational resources for teachers and students on tourism in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

Outlook Report 2019

Published every five years, the 2019 Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority's Outlook Report examines the Great Barrier Reef's health, pressures, and likely future. The 2019 report is the third comprehensive report in the series, and identifies the Great Barrier Reef Region still faces significant pressures ranging in scale from local to global.

Tourism on the Great Barrier Reef

Our website has information on tourism in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and explains how we work with our tourism partners.

Eye on the Reef

Eye on the Reef is a monitoring and assessment program which enables anyone who visits the Great Barrier Reef to contribute to its long-term protection by collecting valuable information about reef health, marine animals and incidents. Our Eye on the Reef webpage explains the program and how you can get involved.
