Grants and funding
The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA) continues to recognise the amazing efforts of individuals, local communities, business, industry and government in keeping the Reef healthy for future generations. A community based approach to caring for the Reef is essential to preserving its social, economic and environmental values.
The agency has committed to providing funding to recognise outstanding environmental stewardship, encourage innovative research and to support opportunities for the community to be more involved and better equipped in sea country management. Information about grants awarded can be found on the grants reporting requirements page.
