Annual Report 2013-14

The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority’s 2013-14 annual report details our work managing one of the world’s premier natural resources, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

We’ve reported against the three objectives set out in the agency’s strategic and corporate plans:

  1. Protect and restore the Reef’s biodiversity
  2. Safeguard the Reef’s heritage values
  3. Ensure use of the Region is ecologically sustainable and the socio-economic benefits derived from the Reef are maintained.

A key focus for 2013-14 was preparing our second Outlook Report for the Great Barrier Reef and finalising our strategic assessment of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. These are the largest and most up-to-date reports about the Reef’s health and management and, importantly, outline how we will manage the Reef for the next 25-years.
