Consultation on the Environmental Impact Statement
Great Keppel Island Marina and Tourism Development
The community are invited to have a say on a proposed resort and marina at Great Keppel Island offshore from Yeppoon, Queensland.
GKI Resorts Pty Ltd have prepared an environmental impact statement on the project’s potential environmental, social, cultural and heritage effects and how these will be managed.
This is required under regulation 88D of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Regulations 1983 (Cwlth), section 33 of the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971 (Qld) and section 103 of the EPBC Act.
Releasing the environmental impact statement for comment does not indicate support for, or approval of, the project by the Australian Government, Coordinator-General or the Queensland Government. It is an opportunity to provide feedback on whether impacts have been identified and addressed.
